Friends, President Biden gave his annual State of the Union address to Congress last night.
With millions of Black, brown and immigrant lives still left on the line, the state of our union couldn’t be any more clear: President Biden and Democrats in Congress have betrayed our communities and willingly allowed racial injustice and anti-Black violence to prevail.
The inaction of elected officials has never stopped us from building power and creating the conditions to shape politics and win protections for our communities — and it won’t stop us now.
Just this morning, activists from United We Dream stood outside the White House calling attention to the President’s failed promises to protect immigrant communities and demand he immediately end all deportations.

We took action today because despite President Biden’s promises and talking points, he’s let our communities down.
Instead of taking action to build an equitable and humane system to welcome refugees into our country, President Biden has chosen to expand immigrant detention and surveillance, and continue to rely on Title 42 and ‘Remain in Mexico’ to rapidly expel Black and brown migrants at disproportionate rates.
Biden is also reopening and expanding detention facilities across the country — despite COVID outbreaks that put more predominantly Black and brown people at increased risk.
After last night’s address, we’re moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Today’s action at the White House was only the beginning — and we’ve got plenty more in store.
Whether we’re fighting for climate justice, voting rights, or citizenship for millions, building a just future is only possible when we come together — and we can’t do that without you.

This past year alone, we supported each other through mutual aid networks in places like Texas when our elected officials failed to deliver relief amidst winter storms. We are pushing to end 287g collaborations to get ICE out of our communities in places like Oklahoma. We helped to reunite families ripped apart by the deportation machine.
We did all of this together. And as we keep moving forward, it’s going to take all of us to see our futures as interconnected and our power as stronger together. We will defend our communities and protect our democracy because our lives depend on it. We are Undeniable
