Team,

Last night, flanked by Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, President Biden delivered his first State of the Union Address to a joint session of Congress.

His address included much to be proud of, folks. After the pandemic brought massive uncertainty to the global economy, the U.S. economy is now growing faster than China’s economy. We’ve seen historic job growth across the country, with a record-breaking 6.5 million jobs created in the past year alone. And as we enter year three of the coronavirus pandemic, President Biden has a plan to help return Americans to uninterrupted daily life.

But there is always much more to do, team.

As inflation looms, there are measures we can take to ease the burden on American families. My focus here has been on targeting monopolies, restoring competition, and lowering prices for consumers. As the President said, “capitalism without competition isn’t capitalism. Capitalism without competition is exploitation — it drives up profits.” I am proud to see this work highlighted by President Biden.

SUPPORT MY WORK IN CONGRESS [[link removed]]In his address, President Biden also specifically called on Congress to pass two bills that I am proud to have introduced: the Equality Act and the DISCLOSE Act. If passed by the Senate and signed into law, the bipartisan Equality Act will strengthen the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to provide protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. The DISCLOSE Act will address the issue of dark money Super PACs in our elections by mandating disclosure of high dollar donors. I am grateful to President Biden for using his position to advocate for these bills, and I hope he has the opportunity to sign them into law soon.

Now, we need the legislative power to send these bills to President Biden’s desk. With Republicans blocking every inch of progress that Democrats put forth, we must expand our Democratic majority to make these legislative initiatives a political reality.

That’s where you come in, team.

It’s no secret that the odds are stacked against Democrats in this year’s midterm elections — but this is a winnable fight. Will you chip in now to fund my team’s efforts to protect and expand the Democratic majority so Democrats can continue to deliver for Americans? [[link removed]]
