The
devastating crisis in Ukraine is worsening with each passing day.

The civilian toll continues to climb. Families are being driven apart.
Explosions in Kyiv and other major cities are forcing families into
basements and bomb shelters. More than 677,000 people have already fled
the country — and the number of refugees could swell to as many as 4
million if the conflict continues.

Events are changing rapidly, and Mercy Corps is
mobilizing an immediate humanitarian response to this unfolding
catastrophe. We must not hesitate to act — the stakes are too high.

[ [link removed] ]Please,
now is the time to send your urgent support to Mercy Corps teams who are
helping families facing conflict and crisis in Ukraine and in 40+
countries around the world.

People gather to board trains as they flee Ukraine.

Mercy Corps team members arriving at the border describe what they are
seeing:

"Ukrainians are mostly crossing into Romania by foot, the majority
women and children who have been separated from their families. They
arrive very disoriented and in shock, and many don’t know what their
next move is. These border towns are overwhelmed and will be unable to
manage this growing influx of refugees without support."

DIANA TONEA, MERCY CORPS MISSION LEAD IN ROMANIA

In Romania and Poland, Mercy Corps teams are working quickly to understand
the evolving humanitarian needs. We anticipate providing emergency cash
assistance as well as supporting local organizations that know their
communitys’ needs best. Our team also anticipates entering Ukraine,
depending on safety and access, as we expect a rapidly growing need for
food supplies, infrastructure, and access to water, electricity,
healthcare, and other essential services.

In
times of crisis, we all search for some concrete action to help those
facing the greatest need. [ [link removed] ]Right now, your generous first donation to Mercy Corps is a step you can take — your
support will help provide urgently needed assistance for families in
Ukraine and in 40+ countries around the world.

Your compassion and commitment to Mercy Corps’ mission, together with our
teams working alongside people around the world, help to power the
transformation of communities from crisis to opportunity.

We will continue to keep you updated as we respond to this rapidly
evolving situation. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

The Mercy Corps team
