**New Coalition to Push for Immigration Reforms This Year**
**WASHINGTON, D.C.** - The National Immigration Forum today joined
nearly 30 organizations in announcing the Alliance for a New Immigration
Consensus (ANIC), which is calling for bipartisan legislative solutions
on immigration and border security in 2022.
The alliance
launched with a press call
today and a letter to congressional leaders
in which members push for consensus-based, incremental reforms that
focus on permanent legal protections for Dreamers, agricultural
workers and other essential workers, as well as orderly, secure and
humane processes at our borders.
"Democrats and Republicans have an opportunity here to lead the way
toward much-needed consensus," said
**Ali Noorani, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum**.
"Americans want their elected officials to come together and address
their concerns about the ongoing economic recovery from COVID-19,
persistent labor shortages and supply chain challenges, rising inflation
and border security. Consensus-based immigration reforms can do just
that."
The launch comes on the heels of new polling
showing that a strong majority of Americans support "Republicans and
Democrats working together on immigration reforms that strengthen border
security, create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants
who came to the United States as children, and ensure a legal, reliable
workforce for America's farmers and ranchers." Support was even
stronger in recent polling
by The LIBRE Initiative.
The letter
 outlines
three priorities for Congress ahead of the midterm elections:
* Address the uncertainty that dominates the everyday lives of so many
undocumented immigrants seeking to contribute to our economy;
* Tackle issues facing our border and strengthen our nation's ability
to manage the border in a secure, orderly and humane manner; and Â
* Solve the workforce limitations in our agricultural sector that are
currently contributing to supply chain issues and raising cost
concerns.Â

**About the Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus**The Alliance for a
New Immigration Consensus (ANIC) is a public coalition of business,
faith, education and advocacy organizations working to build support for
bipartisan legislative solutions that provide permanent legal
protections and other reforms for Dreamers, TPS recipients, and
agricultural workers in 2022.
