Hi John,
We don't agree with Republicans very often, but one thing they're right about is that
school boards are important.
With all the news of book bannings, bills policing queer kids' representation in schools, and rapidly changing rules about school safety, there is too much at stake to let these races go unchallenged.
We cannot allow candidates who would try to rewrite history and hurt marginalized kids to take these seats.
To combat the book-banning, fake-history candidates Republicans are putting up for these seats, we're holding an event just for diverse young progressives considering a run:
See Yourself Running for School Board is happening Wednesday, March 9th at 8:00 p.m. ET. Please join and consider running!
School boards are absolutely failing to reflect the communities they serve. Currently, only 10% of elected school board members are under 40, and only 10% are people of color --
but we're here to help elect diverse school boards that really care about the students and schools they serve.
Run for Something is one of the few national progressive organizations working on school board races.
Join us next week to hear from RFS alums serving on school boards across the country about their experience running and serving their communities. If you're a teacher, a parent, or simply someone who cares about your community,
this event is for you.
So, if you've been considering a run, join us next Wednesday, March 9th at 8:00 p.m. ET for See Yourself Running for School Board.
See you there,
Run for Something
