John, I'm excited to share the latest from CRC with you:

  • How big is the abortion industry?
The abortion industry is perhaps the single most powerful player on the left, with pro-abortion activists raking in billions and spending billions in 2020 alone. The latest IRS disclosures, indicate that 188 activist groups, think tanks, litigation nonprofits, and PACs received funding. Few of these groups are household names. CRC's Hayden Ludwig tracks the money here.
  • Where did Black Lives Matter's millions go?
The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) was the principal beneficiary of donations to the movement in 2020. Yet BLMGNF has never been a model of transparency. Since May 2021, it has even been unclear who leads the  group. The liberal state governments of California and Washington have now prohibited BLMGNF from fundraising in their states. Robert Stilson investigates BLMGNF's dysfunction here.
  • Why does the Left hate nuclear power?
Most of the environmentalist Left--including the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Sierra Club, and the Environmental Defense Fund--oppose carbon-free nuclear energy. But wind and solar energy have never been viable options, leaving nuclear energy as the best path to achieve the Left's goal of sharply cutting carbon dioxide emissions. Ken Braun investigates the Big Philanthropy donors to the anti-nuclear Left here.
  • Do foundations have another type of "dark money"?
Private foundations are required to provide a detailed schedule of investments in their annual filings with the IRS. Yet some do not include meaningful detail on how their vast endowments are invested. This is arguably a form of philanthropic "dark money," and the practice makes it difficult for the public to evaluate a given foundation's investments against the foundation's own standards. Robert Stilson explains here.

In the second segment, Hayden Ludwig reveals the decades-long war on the Electoral College. In particular, the group National Popular Vote is pushing an extraconstitutional plan to bypass the Electoral College.

When Rules Begin to Apply

In this episode: In 2020, the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation raked in tens of millions of dollars from personal and corporate supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement. Since that time, many have wondered where all that money went: Today’s guest, Andrew Kerr of the Washington Examiner, was one of them. And when he went digging for federally mandated disclosures from the group, he couldn’t find them. Now he has only more questions, and BLM Global Network Foundation is finding itself in trouble, even from ideologically friendly regulators.
