WOW, what a night, John!!

Because of you -- and Democracy for America members across the country -- progressive champions won game-changing victories last night, creating historic momentum for our work to Flip the South that will set the stage for how progressive Democrats can win big in 2022.

Last night in Texas, DFA members fueled the victories of Greg Casar in his race for Texas-35 and Beto O’Rourke in his race for Governor. Greg won overwhelmingly in a new Texas district, so his win expands the Democratic majority in the House and adds another strong progressive voice to the chamber.

We also forced two runoff elections, one for Jessica Cisneros in her primary challenge against the ultimate establishment Democrat Henry Cuellar, and the second for Jasmine Crockett as she looks to replace Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson in Texas’s 30th district.

All told, our two huge wins and two runoffs were driven by a multiracial grassroots coalition focused on mobilizing the New American Majority to the polls. DFA members sent nearly 300,000 messages to more than 90,000 voters, and engaged voters on the ground, so our work made a real difference in these races.

Now, ahead of our two pivotal runoff elections, we need to make sure all of the newly-registered and infrequent voters who turned out last night make their voices heard in the crucial runoff elections. And we need to push back on the flagrant voter suppression we saw on the ground, with a record number of Democratic ballots being rejected.
