Dear John,
I have some exciting news to share. This Sunday night, I am going to be featured on 60 Minutes!
As many of you may know, we at the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) have been working tirelessly for the past six years to develop, draft, pass, and enact Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO) ([link removed]) across the country. These orders empower law enforcement and family members to work with courts to temporarily remove firearms from individuals who pose a danger to themselves or others. These laws save lives.
Since 2013, 15 states and the District of Columbia have passed this type of life-saving legislation. Our efforts are paying off! Now 60 Minutes is talking about ERPO. But as honored as we are to be part of this important conversation, we know that we still have so much work to do.
We need ERPO in every state and we need the federal government to support our efforts by supporting its implementation. After the most recent shooting in Santa Clarita ([link removed]) this past Thursday, our country is demanding change. ERPO is a way for us to create this change.
You can stand with us by doing two things this weekend. Of course, we hope that you will tune in this Sunday at 7:30 p.m., ET and 7 p.m. PT on CBS to watch 60 Minutes. Second, help support our campaign to spread ERPO around the country by making a generous donation today: [link removed]

Thank you,
