When he was sworn in last March, Rhode Island had just received an “F” grade from Harvard for vaccine distribution and COVID-19 still loomed over day-to-day life, presenting the most challenging public health and economic crisis in a generation.
Governor McKee’s number one priority was to get shots in arms. Today, Rhode Island is leading the nation in both vaccination rates and economic recovery.
We see the results of the Governor’s work every day: Because so many Rhode Islanders have been vaccinated and boosted, our schools have welcomed students back in-person, small businesses are getting back on their feet, family and friends have been reunited, and last summer music returned to Newport!
Governor McKee is focused on continuing Rhode Island’s recovery and charting a bold path forward for Rhode Island’s future. Not only does Governor McKee have a vision for the future of Rhode Island, he has plans to improve our state over the next decade.
