John,
I know there’s a lot going on right now, and with the constant onslaught of breaking news, you may have missed that Texas held their primary election yesterday — the first primary of 2022.
Conventional wisdom tells us that, because Texas is a red state, progressives shouldn’t even bother — that the only Democrats who can win there are conservative members of the establishment.
But last night, we proved them wrong.
Three progressive challengers — Jessica Cisneros, Jasmine Crockett, and Greg Casar — defied the odds, with two likely heading for runoffs and the other winning flat out against his conservative Democratic opponent. And this happened despite Texas’ horrific, racist voter suppression law meant to silence our voices.
Last night, we made it clear that we won’t be silenced. We made it clear that, with strong grassroots support, progressives can win anywhere, because we’re pushing for the changes that people need.
We can’t let up now, John. The establishment isn’t going to take this loss sitting down, and they’ve already painted a target on my back. Can you chip in $27 today to help us build on this momentum and keep up the fight for progressive change everywhere?
