It’s the 13th annual Spread the Word: Inclusion Day - a day to celebrate inclusion by saying NO to bullying and hurtful words and practices. It’s a day to celebrate the Champions of Change who are taking action for inclusion in communities around the world. 

And I know you are the perfect person to step up and take the pledge to make the world a more inclusive one.

It started in 2009, when our movement joined forces with advocates across the country and launched Spread the Word to End the Word, a campaign dedicated to ending the use of the R-word. Thirteen years later, over ONE MILLION people have pledged to spread inclusion instead.

Now, in 2022, Spread the Word: Inclusion is focusing not just on the elimination of a word but on the creation of a new reality: inclusion for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Around the world, exclusion and discrimination continue to divide people with and without disabilities. We are changing that with grassroots action for inclusion. That’s Spread the Word.
