Hello,

Last night, President Biden spoke to America in his State of the Union address. 

One thing was very clear to me during his address: President Biden understands the anxiety, fear, and struggles that the American people are experiencing. He hears us, and he understands. 

“We meet tonight in an America that has lived through two of the hardest years this nation has ever faced. The pandemic has been punishing. And so many families are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to keep up with the rising cost of food, gas, housing, and so much more. I understand.” - President Joe Biden, 2022 State of the Union Address 

Hearing from a thoughtful and compassionate leader is a stark contrast to the previous administration, and I remain incredibly proud and grateful for the work Democrats put in to bring our country together and on a path forward. 

Still, the work ahead will not be easy, Team. Our entire nation and the Biden administration inherited a whole host of problems from the previous administration. But that didn’t stop President Biden from rolling out millions of vaccinations, lowering unemployment rates, boosting job growth, and passing a historic bipartisan infrastructure plan.

You and I both know that when Democrats lead, America makes positive progress forward. 

Times feel incredibly challenging right now, which makes it even more critical that we continue helping Democrats win. Michigan Democrats have proven that they have and will continue to push for positive solutions that help working families.
