[1]Tammy Duckworth
Tonight, President Biden delivered his first State of the Union address — and demonstrated, once again, that he’s the leader we need to deliver an agenda that will support working families in our country.
The President delivered on his promises to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, pass landmark bipartisan infrastructure legislation, manage the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigate its impact on our economy.
But there is still so much work to be done. We must protect and expand our Democratic majority in the Senate if we are going to pass legislation that will bring costs down for working Americans by making prescriptions and gas prices more affordable for all, expand access to child care, combat the climate crisis and more.
And, of course, Congress must unite to reject autocratic leaders who seek to undermine democracy across the world.
I am proud of all that the President and my Democratic colleagues in Congress have done so far, and I look forward to expanding our majority in the House and Senate so that we can continue to build back better.
All my best,
Tammy Duckworth
