John, I just finished watching President Biden's State of the Union address. There is SO much that we must accomplish for American families, but as I think about the makeup of the Senate – 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans – I'm reminded of just how critical it is that we defeat Sen. You see, during my time in Congress, I fought for many of the issues that President Biden talked about tonight – affordable health care, lower prescription drug prices, accessible child care and so much more. With some hard work and tough conversations, I'm proud to say that I helped pass legislation through the House in the middle of a government shutdown. I'm still the youngest woman to have done so.

But with the likes of Sens. Grassley and Mitch McConnell wielding the filibuster, we kept on hitting brick walls. Critical legislation that would make life better for Americans – like a bill that would lower prescription drug costs – would be dead on arrival. The truth is, our Senate is still broken. Until we expand our 50-50 majority, Chuck Grassley and Mitch McConnell will still have a stranglehold on our democracy.

That's where Iowa comes in: Voters here know that Sen. Grassley has changed during his 47 years in Washington and they're ready to show him the door. He's facing record-low approval ratings, and nearly two-thirds of likely voters don't want to send him back to Washington for an eighth term.

Sen. Grassley has never been more vulnerable, and if we defeat him, Democrats will be virtually guaranteed to expand our majority. This is the only way that we'll be able to fix our Senate and truly deliver for the American people.

But the GOP is already mobilizing to defeat me and defend Sen. Grassley. To compete with the full force of the Republican establishment, I need you with me.
