Urge Biden to take the bold climate action we need.
John,
Tonight President Biden will talk to the nation about the State of the Union. At Food & Water Action, we’re staying focused on the state of the climate crisis.
President Biden promised to listen to the science on climate change and public health. New research from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is overwhelmingly clear: Fossil fuel reliance is deadly to people and the planet. There is no question that fracking for oil and gas devastates land and water, harms wildlife, and hurts people and communities. No set of regulations can ever make fracking safe.
That’s why Food & Water Action won’t stop until Biden uses his executive authority to end the era of fossil fuels – and he can start with banning fracking on federal lands!
President Biden is on pace to approve more drilling on public lands than any president since George W. Bush! Biden’s plans for continued drilling only locks us into decades more air and water pollution, greenhouse gasses, and the destruction of public lands and waters. We can’t – and we won’t – let this stand.
The climate crisis demands that we move off fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy. It’s time to step up to demand real climate leadership from this administration.
Food & Water Action has been leading the fight to ban fracking on public lands for years, including in cherished places like the Arctic and Chaco Canyon. We helped introduce the first bill to ban fracking on federal lands, and as we bring more and more people together to demand real action against fracking, we can protect public lands from fossil fuel extraction.
But it can only be done with your help, John. Together, we can and must push for the climate future we all deserve – a climate future free from reckless and dangerous drilling.
Food & Water Action and its affiliated organization, Food & Water Watch, are advocacy groups with a common mission to protect our food, water and climate.
