Young People Demand Reproductive Justice.

Friend,

Tonight, the Biden Administration will hold its first-ever State of the Union Address. URGE will be watching and listening for how President Biden will address the issues that matter to young people.

Our bold, progressive, and inclusive Young People’s Policy Agenda could serve as a guiding light for Reproductive Justice policies that we need to have a more equitable society, where we are free to choose if and when to parent in safe and sustainable communities.

As the 117th Congress continues and our nation transitions into the second year of the Biden-Harris administration, we applaud the administration’s strides toward progress; however, we are at a critical point in our country where much more must be done before we can come close to a world where Reproductive Justice is a reality. President Biden has refused to say the word abortion, has not fulfilled $10,000 of student loan forgiveness for all borrowers, has not made good on promises of more humane immigration policies, and has done nothing to stop attacks on abortion access or the bodily autonomy of transgender children across the country. This is simply not good enough.

In order to have a world where Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Queer, Trans folks, and young folks can thrive, we need more from our nation’s highest office. We have lived through nearly 1 million people dying of COVID-19. We have watched our friends and family go into unpayable debt because of the medical system and student loans.

We must fight for our future and our now, young people! We never thought changing the world would be easy. We know this is the work of a lifetime and that of future generations to come, but that’s not going to hold us back or slow us down. We need Reproductive Justice NOW, and these policies can help get us there.

Pledge to fight for URGE's Young People’s Policy Agenda here.

Plan to watch the State of the Union Address at 9 pm EST/8 pm CST/6 pm PST on your favorite local or national news channel.
