Dear John,

Join us March 15th from 6:00-7:00 PM ET for an introduction to our newest resource–Plainest Demands of Justice: Documents for Dialogue on the African-American Experience ([link removed]) .

BRI's Rachel Davison Humphries will host a conversation with Dr. Anika Prather who served on the review board for the resource. Prather holds degrees from St. John’s College (Annapolis) and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland (College Park), and her work has focused extensively on building literacy with African American students through engagement in the Classics.

We hope you will join us for their conversation about the missing voices of Black authors from American history.

This resource uses the Declaration of Independence as its foundation and traces natural rights from the colonial era through the present day. It asks students to consider how the efforts of law and policy-makers, the courts, and “We the People” – have worked to ensure a society faithful to Founding principles of liberty, equality, and justice. It includes over 100 primary source experts ([link removed]) and a culminating assessment. Explore the resource here ([link removed]) .

Please contact our Events Team (mailto:[email protected]) if you have any questions.
