It’s shameful, John.
Last night, the Senate blocked a vote to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act – an urgently needed bill that would protect our rights under Roe v. Wade especially in light of recent attacks on abortion access.
We don’t want to sugarcoat this: We're currently witnessing the most dangerous attacks on reproductive rights in our lifetime. That’s why Cori voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act in the House and has been leading the call to defend abortion access. That’s why Cori recently spoke in front of Congress and publicly shared for the first time that she was sexually assaulted, became pregnant, and chose to have an abortion.
So we're reaching out today to ask for your support in this work. Will you chip in $5 or anything you can right now to send a powerful message to anti-abortion politicians that our grassroots movement is rising up to protect our reproductive freedom and demand abortion care for all?
This impacts all of us, John.
It doesn’t matter if you live in a “blue” or a “red” state. Our far-right Supreme Court is preparing to decide on a case soon regarding the legality of an abortion ban in Mississippi and they’ve already hinted that they’re leaning toward dismantling Roe v. Wade.
Passing the Women’s Health Protection Act is our best and most effective chance at protecting abortion access ahead of the Supreme Court’s upcoming decision and the Senate is refusing to defend our reproductive freedom.
That’s why we need our movement to come together. Cori has been sharing her personal story about why she decided to get an abortion, putting pressure on Congress to make sure we pass policies that would secure reproductive health justice, and calling for an end to the filibuster so we can get this done — but she can’t do this work alone.
Together,
Team Cori
