Putin has been emboldened by Joe Biden's destructive policies and weak leadership. By killing the Keystone pipeline on day one and lifting sanctions on the Nord Stream Two Pipeline last May, Biden has allowed Russia to weaponize its energy on the world stage.
Dangerously, Europe is now dependent on Russia for 40% of its natural gas. Rather than exporting freedom and natural gas to the world, the Biden regime is importing nearly 600,000 barrels of oil per day from Russia.
Under President Trump's leadership, the U.S. became a net energy exporter for the first time in decades and became the world's number one producer of oil while maintaining our position as the number one producer of natural gas. President Trump unleashed our energy potential and kept America safe while responsibly developing American energy sources.
In contrast, Biden's energy moratoriums have caused gas prices to soar and the United States is projected to lose its status as a net petroleum exporter this year.
Once again, Joe Biden has put the American people, and our interests around the world, last.
American strength is imperative. We should regain our strength through energy dominance and ramp up American energy production on American soil, stop cowering to not in my backyard extremists and stop filling the coffers of tyrants. Through sound energy and monetary policies, we can reduce inflation, supply our allies, and help secure the safety and prosperity of the United States of America.
Biden’s weakness has allowed Russian evil to go unchecked. America needs real leaders, like President Trump.

I had a productive meeting with the San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District and local farmers, ranchers, and officials to discuss the effort by some to steal the San Luis Valley’s water and pump it to the Denver suburbs. We are united in our stand to protect the Valley’s water!
I also published an op-ed in the Alamosa Citizen and Colorado Politics opposing this effort. In Colorado, water is more precious than gold, and no one knows this better than our hardworking farmers and ranchers who have worked the same soil for generations. The proposal to pump 7 billion gallons of water per year from the San Luis Valley to Denver suburbs threatens farmers' and ranchers’ way of life and would dry up over 22,000 acres of farmable land in the Valley.
Draining the lifeblood of the San Luis Valley is wrong, and I am proud to stand with local communities in opposing this water grab.

I was honored to wish SSG Harold a happy 107th birthday. SSG Harold Nelson is a local hero and World War II veteran who served in combat under General Truscott and General Patton. He is a two-time Purple Heart recipient and a recipient of the Bronze Star. Thank you SSG Harold Nelson and all our veterans for your service to our great nation!

No one knows the price of freedom more than veterans. They sacrificed so much for us, and we owe them a debt we can never repay. That is why it is critical that the VA provide high quality care in a timely manner.
Sadly, the VA took over a year and a half to pay Grand Junction Marine veteran Scott Lyons. He reached out to my office for help, and we were finally able to get him a response from the VA. To date, my office has worked on more than 650 cases for Coloradans having difficulties with federal agencies and returned over $400,000 to the people of Colorado’s Third District. If you need assistance with a federal agency, please let me know!

Last week, I visited the San Luis Central Railroad and wrote a letter supporting their application for a competitive grant from the Department of Transportation’s Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) program. The CRISI grant will help the San Luis Central Railroad Company fund important infrastructure improvements necessary to reduce the risk of derailment, decrease maintenance costs, and increase overall efficiency. The railroad provides critical services for the San Luis Valley’s agriculture-based economy, and agriculture is the foundation of the San Luis Valley. I am proud to offer my support to the San Luis Valley Central Railroad, the farmers and ranchers who depend on it, and the southern Colorado agricultural community.

As Russia attacks Ukraine and the price of oil rises, we need reliable energy now more than ever. Thankfully, the hydroelectric power facility at Pueblo Dam’s 7.5-megawatt plant generates 28 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, roughly enough to power 2,500 homes. This clean energy not only powers our homes, it also adds to our local economy through water recreation and supporting industries. I support American energy, including hydropower!

It was great to visit the site of Watertower Place in Pueblo where Ryan McWilliams is creating a one-of-a-kind development! The exciting new revitalization is on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk and will add 250,000 square feet of new residential space, restaurants, and recreational facilities. I am looking forward to seeing Ryan's inspiring vision being completed!

Few places in America can handle the high quality and quantity of barley that the Coors plant in Alamosa does. I had the privilege to tour this facility and see the incredible way the company works with farmers to merge agriculture and technology from farm to tap, resulting in a $30-$40 million economic impact. Processing over 220 million pounds of barley annually, this facility provides another prime example of the importance of agriculture in southern Colorado.

Formation Ag is producing the machinery necessary to take hemp production to an industrial scale, converting this crop into a variety of products that can be used to make clothes, kitchen tools, agricultural goods, and much more. I'm excited to see such forward-thinking and innovative businesses right here in the 3rd District!

With spring just around the corner, now is the time to get to work preventing wildfires. My Active Forest Management, Wildfire Prevention, and Community Protection Act is the most innovative forestry bill in decades, and it offers commonsense solutions for actively managing our forests.

Pewag is a chain manufacturer that dates back to the 1400’s in Austria. Today, pewag manufactures high quality tire chains right here in Pueblo and proudly sources their materials and labor domestically. As a result, pewag has seen increased sales and opportunities during the transportation crisis simply because they are American made. Thank you for keeping our truckers rolling!

The 15 students I nominated to the U.S. service academies are some of the Third District’s best and brightest. I am inspired by their commitment to using their academic strengths, leadership potential, and unique talents in the service of our country. I wish these 15 students the best of success, and I look forward to following their careers as they serve our nation with distinction.
While this year was extremely competitive, I know that each applicant, whether they received a nomination or not, will still go on to serve Colorado in amazing ways, and I’d like to thank everyone for applying. I’d also like to thank the veterans across Colorado’s Third District who served on my Academy Nomination Boards for their time and for traveling to Grand Junction and Pueblo to interview students applying for a highly competitive nomination to the U.S. service academies.
The following students from Colorado’s Third District received nominations to the U.S. service academies:
United States Air Force Academy Joseph Clark of Aspen Jillian Carlson of Delta Mason Dibble of Grand Junction Ella Johnson of Glenwood Springs Raymond Rosenmerkel of Glenwood Springs United States Naval Academy Brandon Fletchall of Rifle Brooks Hudson of Crested Butte Camille Johnson of Wolcott Connor Sehnert of Mancos Zane Zachary of Aspen United States Military Academy - West Point Kendall Harrington of Steamboat Springs Alfonso Lorenzo of Pueblo David Morehouse of Pagosa Springs Shea Pepin of Steamboat Springs Bowden Tumminello of Steamboat Springs

KKCO 11 News, After 17 months of waiting, a Grand Junction veteran’s medical bill has been paid for “According to [Grand Junction Marine veteran Scott Lyons], Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-Colo.) office were the ones reaching out with this good news. He contacted her office to open a case regarding his difficulties. When asked what action he thought would make an impact for any other veterans facing this issue, Lyons shared, ‘...who they need to contact [is] their congress people, to get the cases built, that would be key.’”
Fox Business, GOP lawmakers call for US to ramp up energy production amid Russia-Ukraine crisis “Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., called on Biden to reopen the Keystone XL pipeline and to take measures for the U.S. to ‘regain our energy independence. How many times will Democrats fail to recognize that the instability of the world’s affairs and economic shocks come at the hands of dictators who fuel their terror on the world stage with dollars we and our allies are forced to spend on their oil and gas exports? It’s time to be smarter than the dictators.’”
Fox 21 News, Congresswoman Boebert issues statement on Russian attack on Ukraine “Congresswoman Boebert’s statement concluded with her calling for Americans to ‘regain our energy independence and also take immediate steps to export far more of our clean liquid natural gas to our European allies. Taking these steps will help tame inflation, contain our enemies’ ability to fund their military ambitions and strengthen democracies throughout the world.’”
