John,

In 2018, Pete Buttigieg made public statements in support of Medicare for
All, then he flip-flopped and completely changed his position.

What happened this summer that made him abandon Medicare for All? Pete
Buttigieg realized he was never going to beat Warren and Sanders as a
progressive and that he could raise tons of cash from corporate executives
in the pharmaceutical and insurance industry.

Buttigieg even gave multiple interviews where he referred to single-payer
as a “compromise” position between the US and UK’s health care systems
while describing Obamacare as “conservative.” Then he changed his mind and
began to be one of Medicare for All’s fiercest opponents.

He has no credibility to question our stances on health care given how far
his position has shifted over the past two years and how much money he’s
been taking from Big Pharma and insurance executives.

Our movement needs a leader in the White House in 2021 who will fight for
the American people and not bow down to Big Pharma and health insurance
corporations. Pete Buttigieg isn’t the best the Democratic Party can do.

Thank you for being a part of our movement to take on the corporate
special interests that are trying to buy our democracy.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
