Dear People For supporter, Yesterday, the Senate advanced the Postal Service Reform Act – critical legislation that will help fix many of the problems that have plagued the United States Postal Service in recent years. The final vote on the bill’s passage could come as soon as later today! Most of us have felt the impacts of the strain on the USPS. From delayed medications and past due bills to postal price increases, nearly every person across the country has been affected in some way by the deeply misguided changes Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has made over the past two years. That’s why we urgently need the Senate to pass the Postal Service Reform Act. Because of DeJoy’s politically motivated mismanagement, the USPS hasn't been able to hire enough workers, buy new trucks, or invest in the machines and technology needed to keep the mail moving on schedule. On top of that, DeJoy has also used this budget “crisis” to justify further harmful service cuts and price increases. The Postal Service Reform Act will ensure integrated delivery of packages and letters six days a week, allow post offices to offer non-postal services – such as fishing licenses or subway passes – and create a publicly accessible mail performance dashboard. The bill has broad bipartisan support in Congress. It passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with 342 votes. We need to ensure that every senator knows how strongly their constituents support this bill to make sure it meets the 60-vote filibuster threshold. Act now and urge your senators to pass the Postal Service Reform Act! >> In unity, – Sarah, Digital Campaigns Associate
