Putin’s invasion, Biden’s equivocation <[link removed]> - As we move into the next phase of this crisis, we know only two
things. One: Putin is acting, and Biden is reacting… slowly. Two: It is still unclear how Biden intends to deal with this crisis, and we have no idea on how he will deal with the next one.  Putin’s ambitions don’t stop with Ukraine. If he is going to be checked, the United States and its allies have to build sufficient strategic and conventional deterrence to checkmate his military and enough energy independence and energy security to short-circuit his ability to weaponize oil and gas exports. Until Biden makes clear that he has a solid plan for accomplishing this, Americans and their allies will continue to question his desire and even his ability to lead. What Senators Must Ask Supreme Court Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson About Her Record, Judicial Philosophy <[link removed]> - President Joe Biden has nominated U.S. Circuit Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. She is a favorite of left-wing special-interest groups and was among the top front-runners for the seat. While on the bench, Jackson has issued some opinions that should trouble Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Jackson should be asked some tough question about whether she shares their views that Lady Justice should remove her blindfold and tip the scales and that courts should be overtly political institutions. Send The US Navy: How To Make Sure Russia Doesn’t Expand The Ukraine War <[link removed]> -
Wars have a way of providing clarity on issues too easily obscured by peacetime priorities. Today, it is clear the U.S. must act to ensure this conflict does not expand, and the Navy <[link removed]> has a key role to play. Clearly, the U.S. must bolster NATO militarily. And when it comes to deterring further escalation or expansion of this conflict – say into the Baltics – the mobile and sustained forward striking power of the Navy is irreplaceable. The top priority now must be to prevent the war from widening, by deterring Putin from moving against the Baltic states or non-NATO Finland <[link removed]>. Doing this quickly – within days – requires positioning mobile and very lethal naval forces at two strategic pressure points: the Baltic Sea and the Barents Sea. Government ‘fixes’ for inflation could further increase prices <[link removed]>- With inflation at a 40-year high, politicians understandably want to ease inflationary pains. While workers’ median hourly wages are up 5.7 percent over the past year, 7.5 percent inflation has more than erased those gains. Minimum-wage increases will add to this inflationary cycle. Federal lawmakers could boost productivity and pay by shifting to performance-based pay, which
economic studies have shown lead to wage increases. Heritage Expert: Rachel Greszler  <[link removed]>

Women’s Health Protection Act:
Unconstitutional and More Radical Than Roe v. Wade <[link removed]> - The U.S. Senate will next week take up S.1975, the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA). Its backers want everyone to believe that it will simply protect by statute the right to abortion that the Supreme Court defined in its Roe v. Wade decision. They know this is a lie, and the rest of the American people need to know it too. The WHPA would be even more radical than either Roe v. Wade or the bill’s own legislative predecessors. The Supreme Court’s answer in Roe v. Wade was that human life has almost no value before birth. The WHPA scoffs even at that, denying that human life exists at all before birth. Senators will give their answer when they take up the bill next week. Heritage Experts: Thomas

We’re Mortgaging Our Kids’ Futures. Here’s a Plan to Change That and Lower Taxes. <[link removed]> - America is a great nation. But it won’t stay that way forever if its leaders continue acting like the solution <[link removed]> to all our ills is more
federal spending <[link removed]> and regulations. The federal government’s already outsized role in society creates <[link removed]> far more problems than it solves. The Heritage Foundation’s Budget Blueprint <[link removed]> tackles Washington’s spending problem head-on. The plan includes more than 200 <[link removed]> concrete proposals to restore the federal government to its proper, limited role and unshackle the American economy from
burdensome federal taxes and regulations. Heritage’s Budget Blueprint lays out the path to a more prosperous society where hard work is rewarded, government dependency is minimized, our children are saved from a crushing debt they didn’t create, and where America leads the free world for generations to come. Indiana Parents’ Rights Over Their Child’s Education Are Threatened. Here’s What Parents Around the Country Need to Know. <[link removed]> - State lawmakers are proposing to make it optional for school leaders to inform parents about the topics educators are teaching students. Indiana officials should move quickly and consider proposals that protect children from racial bias and empower families with access to course outlines, reading lists,
and other class material. Lawmakers should say that no public official can compel a teacher or student to affirm any idea, but especially ideas that violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Parents are advocating for their children—and Indiana lawmakers should defend the rights of both. Heritage Expert: Jonathan Butcher <[link removed]>
