REAL PEOPLE. REAL IMPACT.
"Aging well for all" isn't just a catchphrase. It's a defining feature of our vision for America's future. Our Equity Promise ([link removed]) explains why it's important for us to reach the most vulnerable among us, including people struggling through homelessness.
Samad Black is 57 years old, has a disability, and has been homeless for years. A lack of regular access to healthy food made it increasingly difficult for him to control his diabetes. That's when one of our grantees stepped in.
The staff at the Dallas Department of Health and Human Services, helped Samad enroll in the Supplemetal Nutrition Assistance Program. They also found ways to follow up with him so he doesn't miss renewal notices due to a lack of Internet access. Now, Samad regularly stops by to thank everyone for their help.
In a time when happy endings feel rare, we're proud to have made this one possible. Thanks to support from donors, we can empower community-based organizations and programs to keep older adults like Samad healthy and safe.
Your tax-deductible gift means we'll be there to help every older adult who needs us.
