John,
My name is Cheri Beasley, and I am running for Senate in North Carolina.
North Carolina is one of Democrats’ best pickup opportunities this year. The political experts rate it as one of Democrats best chances to flip a seat, and say it’s one of a handful of races that will decide control of the Senate.
But I decided from the moment we launched to run a true grassroots campaign. I’m not taking a dollar of corporate PAC money because I only answer to the people. That also means I need to work extra hard to keep this race competitive.
Will you chip in $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can to help my campaign and Dick Durbin? This race could very well determine control of the Senate this year. [link removed]
Now I wouldn’t expect you to donate without knowing who I am. Let me tell you a bit more about myself.
As a former judge and the first African American woman to serve Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, I worked to keep communities safe and to ensure the law was applied equally to all people.
My husband Curt and I raised our twin sons in North Carolina, in a home steeped in faith and a belief in hard work.
And in the Senate I‘ll be a voice for North Carolina with the same values of independence and fairness that have guided my life – and I’ll fight to lower costs, expand access to affordable health care, create good-paying jobs and more.
Republicans know that, with your help, I can win this seat. That’s why far-right extremists are doing everything they can to defeat me this year. Dark money groups have already pledged to spend at least $10 million on this race. My Trump-endorsed opponent even wrote his own campaign a check for $250,000.
I know we can win this race and help Democrats keep the Senate with your help. Please pitch in $5, $10, $20 or another amount to my campaign and Dick Durbin now. [link removed]
Thank you,
Cheri Beasley
