John -

Earlier today, the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
released a new report.

You probably haven't seen a lot of news coverage about this latest IPCC
report, because today most news outlets are covering the horrific news of
Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

This latest climate report from the IPCC — part two of the four-part
complete assessment — focuses on climate impacts, adaptation, and
vulnerability. As expected, it paints an incredibly dire picture of the
future of our climate:

Countries aren't doing nearly enough to protect against the disasters to
come as the planet continues to heat up. And these disasters will be much
more widespread and much more negative than expected.^1

It makes for grim reading. But there's one key statistic that's missing
from the IPCC report: the size — and strength — of our climate movement.

Millions of members and activists. Tens of thousands of organizers and
donors. Big Oil's worst nightmare.

And we know something the fossil fuel industry doesn't want us to know:
it's not too late to avoid the worst impact of the climate crisis, and the
only way to do so is by shutting down their entire industry forever.

That's why today we're asking you to help us send an unmistakable message
to Big Oil that our movement is more committed than ever to ending the era
of fossil fuels:

— or however much you can afford — today to tell the fossil fuel industry
that it's their future, not ours, that's hopeless? We'll use your
contribution to win this fight for a livable future.

Here's the thing, John: we are
not waiting for some big event that will suddenly solve the climate
crisis. We're not waiting for more bad news from future IPCC reports.

We're solving this crisis right now, together. Many small acts, by people
like you and me all over the world, are currently creating a cascading
global effect. Country by country, we're shutting down pipeline after
pipeline, getting bank after bank to stop funding fossil fuels, exposing
lie after lie, and putting pressure on government after government.

This is what winning the fight for our climate looks like. We just have to
keep going. Hoping. Fighting.

The end of the era of fossil fuels has already begun. Now, let's finish
the job. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip in,
John?
