Hi John,

My name is Dr. Debbie Harrington, and last week you heard from my fellow DDP Vice Chair, Coby Owens. He and I agree — try as they might, we cannot afford to let the Republican Party threaten voting rights here in Delaware.

That’s why I am writing today. There is a critical piece of legislation on the table in Dover that would change our state’s constitution to make it easier for everyone to vote.

 

House Bill 75 is a constitutional amendment that would allow for no-excuse absentee voting, paving the way for a more permanent Vote by Mail system here in Delaware. GOP lawmakers and leaders have launched an attack against this effort to make voting more accessible because they know that when more people vote, our vision of justice and equality prevails. 

 

I am asking you to join me in pledging your support for this legislation.

Let’s send a message to our legislators in Dover that it is time to allow for no-excuse absentee voting in the First State.
