Original Message from Councilmember Derek Green:
John, in just days, City Council will be voting on the first step to establish a public bank in Philadelphia.
This is a moment I’ve been working toward for years, and I’m so proud to finally see it coming to fruition. A public bank will open up new possibilities for so many Philadelphians, particularly our Black and Brown residents who have historically been denied equal opportunities to access credit and establish generational wealth.
Now that we’re nearing the first step in making public banking a reality in our city, I need your help to keep our momentum going. I have a goal of raising $5,000 before the end of the month. Can I ask you if you’ll step up and make a donation today to help me reach this goal before the end of February? [[link removed]]

For real change to happen in Philadelphia, there’s no room for anything less than bold, transformative action.
That’s why I’m working to pass a comprehensive voting rights package, diversify our city’s energy resources, and much more.
Before February ends, will you chip in $10 to fuel my work on Council? [[link removed]]
Thank you for being on my team, John.
