🌹 General Meeting Recap 🌹

Thanks to everyone who joined the ATL DSA February General Meeting on Saturday! The meeting featured three resolutions and an insightful conversation on the Georgia Legislative session with guest speaker, Georgia State Rep. Renitta Shannon. Big thanks to everyone who submitted questions!

During the meeting, we passed 3 resolutions:

Resolution 22-5: Towards Participatory and Rational Conventions which adds structure and substance to our annual convention
Resolution 22-7: Solidarity with Starbucks Workers which will allow us to do a fundraiser with matching funds for fired Starbucks workers in Tennessee.
Resolution 22-8: For Accessible Meetings which does away with hybrid general meetings due to associated technical issues, in favor of either fully in-person or virtual meetings, as COVID safety permits.

If you haven't been to a General Meeting yet, please come next month! General Meetings are typically held the 4th Saturday of every month, and are where all the most important democratic decision-making takes place!

📋 Fight for $15 Canvass in Decatur 📋

Join us for a #Fightfor15 canvass in Decatur! We'll meet at Midway Park (3165 Midway Rd, Decatur, GA 30032) Saturday March 5 at 10:00 AM to knock doors, talk to neighbors about why working Georgians deserve a $15 minimum wage, and share resources on workplace organizing.

Please wear a mask and bring a friend. Make sure to download the free MiniVAN canvassing app ahead of time. Water and snacks will be provided! No experience needed.

☕ Starbucks Solidarity Flyering ☕

All over the country, Starbucks stores are unionizing! Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to flyer in solidarity with Starbucks workers! 🌹

We'll be flyering again on Sunday March 6 at 10:00 AM, in the neighborhood around the Howell Mill Starbucks location (1801 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318). We'll meet in the Starbucks parking lot.
