Team,
My friend Elissa Slotkin isn’t just one of the brightest young stars in Congress — she’s the kind of leader our politics desperately needs: willing to put her country and its values first; eager to work with forward-thinking people no matter what party you belong to; and unafraid to take on the toughest challenges.
That last part is going to come in handy. Because thanks to redistricting, she has one of the most difficult re-election fights imaginable, running in a brand-new district — and Republicans have already set their sights on flipping it.
When I started Honor Bound, it was because I believe we need a whole lot more women like Elissa Slotkin in Congress. Will you split a donation with her campaign today to help make sure she sticks around for years to come?
Let me back up a bit and tell you a little more about why I admire Elissa Slotkin so much. For starters, she has dedicated her career to serving our country — spending 14 years as national security expert under Presidents Bush and Obama, touring combat zones, and taking on leadership roles at the Department of Defense.
She first won election to Congress in 2018, and since then, I’m so thankful to have her leadership and experience working for all of us — at a time when way too many elected officials put their party and political aspirations ahead of the Constitution.
Her likely opponent this fall is a hyper-partisan conservative state senator named Tom Barrett. He helped push through election “reforms” aimed at addressing fictional election fraud — laws that will likely prevent eligible voters from casting their ballots. We can't reward that kind of undemocratic behavior with a promotion.
The problem is this new House district slightly favors Republicans, giving Elissa’s opponent a leg up. That’s why I’m so proud to have her back as early as possible to make sure we keep her voice in Congress.
Split a donation with Elissa Slotkin’s campaign, and help Honor Bound keep badass women like her in Congress.
Thanks for all your help,
Amy
