Dear John,
I need your urgent help to take action for owls who are being exploited at a market in the north-east of England.
Will you take action today and ask the market to remove animal suffering from their venue?
TAKE ACTION FOR OWLS ([link removed])
John, Tynemouth Market in North Shields hosts a trader who displays a number of owls, including a barn owl called Willow and an eagle owl called Mr Wilson. The trader is called 'Mr Wilson and Friends' and they display the owls next to their stall with items for sale.
In exchange for money, members of the public can have a photograph taken whilst holding one of the owls. For the majority of the day, the owls are tethered to a perch waiting to be handled by the next market visitor.
Tied down by their legs, these birds are denied the freedom for flight, something that is so important to a bird. Instead they are made to endure the crowds of shoppers and noise of a busy market.
We are calling on Tynemouth Market to remove this trader from their events.
But we need your help to make that happen! Please will you contact the market here and add your voice to the campaign? We have provided a template email so it just takes a minute to add your name and email:

These animals may have been born in captivity but they are still wild animals. Just like the tigers, elephants and bears used in circuses, these animals are treated as props for human entertainment... and suffer as a consequence.
Owls should be free to be fly at will in the wild, not kept on display at a busy market! Please take action for these birds today by sending your email now. ([link removed])
Thank you.
For the animals,
