John,
In just three weeks on Dec 6th, our generation is going on strike again--and this time, we’re turning up the heat. Young people across the country will take over the offices of politicians who have failed to champion the Green New Deal.
When millions of us striked in September, politicians across the world cheered and tweeted, but nothing changed. Encouraging words won’t protect our lives and futures--only a Green New Deal can do that.
So we’re upping the pressure and staging over 150 sit-ins, office takeovers, and banner drops demanding all politicians enthusiastically champion the Green New Deal. We’re up against some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world -- fossil fuel billionaires -- and the only way we’ll get politicians to champion the wellbeing of our generation is by making ourselves impossible to ignore.
There’s already a strike planned in your area! Pledge to join it so you can make sure your local politicians know that people in Washington demand a Green New Deal.
From Hurricane Dorian to the California wildfires, the climate crisis is already ravaging our communities. Unless we immediately change course, millions of people stand to lose their lives and livelihoods.
But things could be different. We have the solutions to stop this crisis and build a world where we can all thrive, and they’re in the Green New Deal. Any politician that won’t champion the GND isn’t serious about stopping climate change--or about protecting our lives and futures.
So we are walking out of school and work to tell our leaders in person just how much a Green New Deal could mean for us and our community, and show that we are ready to keep striking until we win. Our lives depend on it.
Join the strike that’s already being planned near you.
See you in the streets.
