Hi John, how are you? I know it has been a difficult few days and I hope you are doing ok.

A lot has been happening recently. I'm trying to keep my head down and do the best job I can because that's how I can be most effective and that's what I can control. Meanwhile, it’s only February and the GOP is already mudslinging at me, hard. They’re starting as early as possible because they want to flip this seat at any cost to take back the House majority come November. And now the NRCC has made a huge investment in this race by adding CT-05 to their “young-guns”  shortlist — this means a LOT more national GOP money being thrown at this race.

But while they’ve been attacking me with lies and misinformation, I’ve been working hard with my colleagues in the House to pass meaningful legislation like the America COMPETES Act to enhance our global competitiveness and the Freedom to Vote Act to protect the sacred right to vote.

The only way to fight back against the kind of attacks we’re seeing now, and we're sure to see more of in the coming months, is by putting our heads down and doing the work. But my team and I need your help so we can keep doing just that.
