John —
It would be better for our country and the world if Republicans would just take a break from their bogus political attacks while the world works to stop a disastrous war in Ukraine launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
But because Republicans are firmly in Donald Trump’s thrall, we have Senators such as Wisconsin Republican Ron Johnson filling airtime on Fox News, repeating Trump’s CPAC attacks against me — claiming that I was somehow responsible for weakening Ukraine. Why, because I led an impeachment against Trump for withholding military aid from Ukraine to demand political favors. Yeah, I know. It’s nuts.
Ron Johnson is clearly confused. And that’s being charitable.
It was Trump who withheld military aid from Ukraine. It was Trump who demanded a “favor” from Zelensky in exchange for aid. It was Trump who weakened Ukraine. And it was Senator Johnson and all of his Republican colleagues who voted to acquit Trump after we proved our case.
This moment is bigger than the United States’ domestic politics. Ukraine and our NATO Allies are looking to us for leadership. It is weak and pathetic that Republicans are still trying to cover for Trump’s many, many faults.
John, as much as Republicans want to make me or Speaker Nancy Pelosi the villain of this story, we must keep the focus on defending Ukrainian democracy. Trump and the Republicans turned their backs on President Zelensky when the chips were down. Now they want to cover their tracks and turn their ignominy into a political weapon. We won’t let them.
Please, rush a $10 donation to help my campaign respond to the flurry of attacks made against me by Trump and Republicans in recent days. We have an important deadline at midnight, but more important than that, we must respond to Republicans’ attacks and set the record straight.

Thanks as always for being in my corner.
