And at Color Of Change, we will continue to advocate a more just world for Black folks 365 days a year. #UntilJusticeIsReal

Dear John,

As a Black-led racial justice organization, Color Of Change makes Black history every day. We run and win campaigns that improve the lives of Black people 365 days a year. As Black History Month comes to a close, and we continue to bask in the glory and boundlessness of what it means to be Black, Color Of Change remains committed to centering the needs and dreams of our communities far beyond this February!

But, John, many corporations commercialize and perhaps even misrepresent the boundlessness of Blackness for capital gain. Some will suggest that as Black History Month puts our folks and culture on display, systemic injustices against Black people no longer exist—but we all know that’s not true. In fact, those same corporations with Black History Month clothing collections and initiatives have documented histories of discriminatory hiring practices and even retaliating against Black employees who spoke out against the racial injustice in their policies and products—take Target and Google, for example.1 This is a movement, not a moment. And that’s why Color Of Change is asking for your ongoing support today so that we can continue our fight until justice is real!
