| Friend, Despite repeated commitments to pass the MORE Act in the House, leadership has failed to bring it to a floor vote yet. There’s no excuse to keep stalling on long overdue marijuana justice. That’s why we’re turning up the pressure with a petition to House leaders and we’ll deliver the signers to their offices in the coming weeks. Join us by signing the petition demanding Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer bring the MORE Act to a floor vote in March. It’s been more than a year since the House passed the MORE Act in an historic vote – the first time a chamber of Congress has ever approved a bill that would deschedule marijuana to end federal criminalization and repair the harms of prohibition. As more and more states legalize it right by passing equitable marijuana laws rooted in racial and social justice, Congress must seize its opportunity to catch up and take a step toward finally making federal reform a reality. The MORE Act is the only bill that will end federal marijuana prohibition with the comprehensive reforms needed to repair the damage it’s done to communities, end the harms of criminalization, and ensure an equitable path forward. With hundreds of thousands of marijuana arrests every year and a vast majority of the public in favor of legalization, House leadership must act now to deliver on their promise to pass the bill again this year.
