Just like that, February has come to a close. In this short month, NIAC celebrated Black History Month and our Black Iranian-American community, stood up against warhawks like Senator Bob Menendez, hosted our first open-mic night of the year, and advocated for the restoration of the Iran Nuclear Deal. All while continuing to monitor escalating geopolitical tensions and standing in solidarity against war and with the victims of the indefensible Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The unfolding tragedy in Ukraine is a poignant reminder to many Iranian Americans who know of the cost of war first-hand. That is why we must redouble our efforts for peace and diplomacy with Iran so we can avoid another conflict and prevent further suffering.
March is a critical month for all of us as we believe this is when we could have the best chance of resealing the Iran Nuclear Deal. We have to keep the pressure on the Biden Administration and on Congress and to do that we have to hit all of our fundraising goals. Right now, we're behind on February's goal by $2,678.
