California is leading the way in holding polluters to a higher standard.
John, a lot of time when we’re hearing about environmental issues, it’s nothing but bad news. So we’re switching it up and telling you about a few recent wins for the environment:
- After Trump banned the state of California from enacting our own vehicle pollution standards, the Biden Administration is restoring our ability to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
- Nationwide, the Biden Administration will be implementing limits on pollution from buses, delivery vans, tractor-trailers and other heavy trucks—updating standards for the first time in over two decades.
- The bipartisan infrastructure law which passed Congress this fall is providing $5 billion to help build a network of electric vehicle charging stations all across the country. This will help more drivers make the switch to electric.
- The bipartisan infrastructure law will also allow the government to spend billions to ramp up their efforts to prevent deadly forest fires across the western US.
There’s still much to be done to ensure we preserve our environment for future generations. That is why Katie’s continuing to push for legislation that will hold big polluters accountable and crack down on Big Oil’s greed.
