Dear friend,
Our nation's prisons are in crisis. Incarcerated people are being abused, neglected, beaten, and left for dead. We have to do something.
Maybe you or a loved one have been to prison. Or maybe you simply care about our American values of dignity and justice for all. No matter your motivation, I'm asking that you give a gift to FAMM to help improve our nation's prison conditions. http://support.famm.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1675&1675.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T&autologin=true
Last month, FAMM held a prison oversight workshop in Washington, D.C. We invited state-based organizations from around the country to discuss best practices in prison oversight and accountability. Leaders from 15 state advocacy groups shared their goals and heard from nationally recognized scholars and practitioners on how to make independent oversight a reality in their states. Everyone came away better informed and equipped for success in the next legislative session.
Now that the workshop is over, we plan on using the knowledge, skills, and connections gained from our convening to create real change.
Will you give a gift to FAMM so we can continue advocating humane prison conditions? We're fighting to create a justice system that treats incarcerated people like human beings, but we need your help to get there. http://support.famm.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1675&1675.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T&autologin=true
Sincerely,
Kevin Ring President, FAMM
P.S. If you give today, your gift will be DOUBLED. Please make a donation to show people in prison around the country that they are not forgotten. http://support.famm.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1675&1675.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T&autologin=true
