With DAYS to go until Tuesday’s Texas primary, progressive Greg Casar is close to the 50% he needs to avoid a runoff in the 35th Congressional District, according to a new Public Policy Polling survey.
As an Austin City Council member, he passed paid sick leave and raised wages for the lowest-paid City employees from $7.25 to $15 an hour with health care benefits.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren are all supporting Casar to win!
Stretching from Austin to San Antonio, the new 35th District is open and safely Democratic, making it a crucial opportunity to elect a strong, principled progressive like Greg Casar.
On the Austin City Council, Casar helped deliver affordable housing, protected a local Planned Parenthood clinic from closing, and worked to close tax loopholes for the wealthy.
If Casar can get above 50% on Tuesday, he can avoid a low-turnout runoff primary which could lead to electing a less progressive opponent.
