Hi John,

This week the New York Times released a report on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and his wife, Ginni Thomas, uncovering new details about their plot to steer the whole country toward the far-right.

While Trump cozied up to Clarence Thomas by appointing many of his hand-picked nominees to the federal courts, Ginni Thomas used this access to the White House to lobby Trump on her hard-right priorities, having nearly unfettered access to a sitting president.

According to the report, Justice Thomas still continues to flout ethical guidelines by participating in events hosted by conservative organizations with matters before the court.

Supreme Court justices are supposed to be independent jurists, but how is that possible when Clarence and Ginni Thomas are working together to establish a radical right-wing agenda to be upheld by a 6-3 extreme right-wing court?

What’s worse is that Ginni Thomas used her position and influence to perpetuate Trump’s big lie, attempting to undermine the will of voters and endangering voting rights nationwide.

While leading the far-right Council for National Policy, she drove the Republican effort to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election, circulating an “action steps” document to give instructions to other Republicans. She also championed efforts to curtail voting rights, including in Arizona. When the Supreme Court decided the very same issue, Clarence Thomas voted with the majority to uphold the ban that his wife was championing.

Team, this is outrageous. A sitting Supreme Court Justice should never be allowed to use their position to give their family special favors. Especially when those favors mean pushing an extreme agenda onto the American people and trying to overturn a presidential election.
