According to the Cook Political Report, Kevin McCarthy is in a very safe Republican district, meaning he does not need to spend much to keep his seat. So, what to do with all that money?

Well, as one of the highest-ranking members of the GOP intent on stacking the House with his far-right faction, he is free to spend that money on his party and ensure his choice of far-right candidates gets elected this November. By endorsing Liz Cheney’s far-right opponent last week, he has signaled that is exactly what he plans to do.
