Team,

There is a lot going on around the world today, but we want to celebrate a piece of historic good news out of Washington this week.

President Biden has announced Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee to the Supreme Court, following through on one of his campaign promises to appoint a Black woman to the highest court in the land.

Judge Jackson will make history as the first Black woman to ever serve on the Supreme Court. And as a former public defender, she will bring a much-needed perspective to the Court.

This milestone has been a long time coming, Team, and we are thrilled to be able to congratulate Judge Jackson on her appointment. Now, the Senate must act with urgency to confirm Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court as soon as possible. [[link removed]]

TELL THE SENATE: CONFIRM JUDGE JACKSON [[link removed]]As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, Team Cicilline sends congratulations and best wishes to Ketanji Brown Jackson, who will go down in history as the FIRST Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Join us by adding your name to urge the Senate to confirm Judge Jackson. >> [[link removed]]
