Friend,
Like many of you, I've watched the Russian invasion of Ukraine over the past few days in horror.
Vladimir Putin's unprovoked, lethal aggression against the strongest democracy in the region is a clear attack against freedom and against liberty.
Now the world is watching.
As a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard who served four tours in the Middle East, my heart goes out to the families and loved ones of those who are fighting, and the civilians caught in the crossfire. They've got a long road ahead.
Here at home, our country is about to learn some very different lessons, as the price of gas, energy, crops, and much more rise even higher.
I hope we learn the most important lesson: the importance of American Strength and the example we're setting for the rest of the world.
In the past few years, our leaders in Washington have weakly tried to substitute government spending for real strength, and we've abandoned the self-sufficiency that would have protected us from the coming crises.
I have five boys, and I have been looking at the world through their eyes these past few days. They are going to inherit the world that is shaped by what happens next, and I know they're watching us to see how we respond.
I hope you'll join me in taking a stand – today and every day – for freedom, for American strength, and for a better future ahead of us. Pray for Ukraine.
-Roger
