Hi John, I'm Emily – and I just started as Kara's new Field Director.

As a longtime Long Islander, I've watched Kara fighting on behalf of our communities for years. From passing legislation in the Suffolk County Legislature to protect our coastlines to coming up with solutions to address the opioid overdose epidemic, Kara's commitment has never wavered.

That's why I'm so excited to be a part of this team, and to help introduce the Kara I know to New York's 1st district.

But here's the thing. Tomorrow's end-of-month fundraising deadline comes just before petitioning to get Kara on the ballot officially begins on Tuesday, March 1. I've got a plan in place to hit the ground running in order to connect with our neighbors, but that all hinges on hitting this month's goal.

I've worked on a lot of campaigns, and I grew up in a proud union household –I know what it takes to organize and mobilize voters to the polls. It requires hard-work, grassroots support, and the ability to find common ground with our neighbors.

We've got a real chance to flip NY-01 blue, protect the Democratic majority, and fight for the issues that matter most, but our team needs your support to get there.
