After an olympic swimming-pool sized leak...now the oil is flowing again

Friend — this is TERRIBLE news and EXACTLY what should not happen after a massive oil spill. We've just learned that the Keystone pipeline is back up and running.

After spilling more than 383,000 gallons of oil (about the size of an Olympic swimming pool) of oil in North Dakota's wetlands, TC Energy — the company behind the Keystone pipeline — has put the pipeline back in service.

This is the second major spill in just over two years. And the current spill hasn't even been cleaned up or contained. According to the TC Energy, they have no idea when the current spill cleanup efforts will end.

We have to send a strong message, and we have to do it NOW. The League of Conservation Voters and our 2.1 million members have worked with Indigenous communities and local leaders to stop Keystone before — we need your help to do it again.

This is a massive fight on a massive scale, but our resources are stretched, friend. We're asking every LCV member to pitch in — even if it's just $5.

This is URGENT: Please rush an emergency contribution to the League of Conservation Voters right now. Even $5 will help. We need you in this fight to keep up the pressure against Keystone construction. Every gift will be triple matched »

The Keystone XL pipeline is a carbon-bomb that will transport dirty and dangerous tar sands oil from Canada through the middle of the U.S. to Louisiana. We can't allow the Keystone pipeline to get fully built. We're already witnessing negligence and we can only guess the fallout from the devastation a completed pipeline would have on our climate.

That's why the League of Conservation Voters must mobilize now. Public outrage against the Keystone XL pipeline is building and now is our chance to stop it once and for all.

There is so much on the line right now: Reduced funding for the Interior and EPA departments, Trump's plan to open logging in the pristine Tongass National Forest, opening drilling in public lands, and Trump trying to pull the U.S. out of the the Paris Climate Agreement.

The League of Conservation Voters is front and center in every single one of these fights. We need you with us to win.

Please. Dig deep and make an emergency contribution to LCV today. Even $5 is enough to make a difference. And remember, every contribution will be tripled »

Thank you for all your support.
