I just wanted to highlight my team’s email from the other day, because I cannot overstate how crucial this race will be to holding our Democratic majority in Congress.

Just to pull back the curtain a bit: The recent redistricting process has changed the political landscape in GA-07, which means my reelection is going to be tougher than we initially thought. We think it is clear who should be in charge in Congress – here is why:

While Republicans were busy spewing anti-science misinformation, Democrats delivered a historic stimulus bill that led to the fastest economic growth in the U.S. since 1984 and got money back into the pockets of struggling families and workers.

While Republicans were busy attacking voting rights and elections across the country, Democrats passed a series of major voting rights bills in the House and launched fights to protect our democracy nationwide.

While Republicans were busy stoking the flames of culture wars, Democrats secured billions of dollars in federal funding to revolutionize our power grid, combat climate change, fix our nation’s infrastructure, and are now leading the charge on providing affordable healthcare.

While Democrats have been busy getting things done, Republicans have been strategizing how to take back the majority and reverse all of the progress we are making for the American people.

Republicans only need to pick up five seats to take back the House, meaning that GA-07 – our district – could be the difference between Democrats defending our majority or Republicans taking control of Congress.
