I can’t hold in my excitement any longer - our Move Into the Future sculpture unveilng is officially TODAY!

✨TOUR THE SCULPTURE✨

Today, UWD & BLM Houston have unveiled our new pop-up art experience in collaboration with local Black, brown, and Indigenous artists called Move Into the Future. This sculpture, created in the shape of a shoe, symbolizes how our communities will move into an abundante future together centering community care & racial justice.

So today, I’d love for you to join us, Friend, as we celebrate the beautifully intertwined future we’ll create together by indulging in art, healing, and reflection.

At our official unveiling today, we were joined by a few of the artists who contributed to the piece, as well as community members like Frida, a DACA recipient from Houston. Frida will share her story of how after the deportation of her father, her community supported her & her mother by helping fund her first DACA application. Now, she’s out of the shadows, undocumented & unashamed on TikTok and an inspiration to many other immigrant youth who have now shared their stories with the world ✊
