Election Day is Tuesday for our powerhouse slate of progressives in Texas, and Our Revolution Texas is hitting the streets and the phones to Get Out the Progressive Vote!
Mike Oles, ORHQ Field Director, and Kristi Lara, our National Field Organizer based in Texas, led a Labor Rally in San Antonio to call out Henry Cuellar’s anti-union record and led canvases with Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal to elect Greg Casar in Texas’ 35th District!
Not only is our volunteer army knocking doors, our National Phonebank Force is calling and texting tens of thousands of progessive voters around the clock to get to the polls on Tuesday.

During the critical 2022 midterms, Our Revolution-backed candidates will be taking on corporate incumbents, fighting to flip red districts, and vying to seize open seats.
So far, 30 House Democrats are planning to retire or run for other offices, making way for progressives to increase our share of power in elected office.
Our Revolution-endorsed Jasmine Crockett is one such progressive running to fill an open seat in Congress to represent Texas’ 30th District.
“Jasmine is a member of Our Revolution -- she’s part of our movement,” OR Political Director Aaron Chappell told NBC News. “It’s not every day that our candidates are front-runners in a congressional race, so this is a great opportunity and we’re seeing that in several places.”
Speaking of front runners, our members on the campaigns of Greg Casar and Jasmine Crockett report that we have a good shot to grow the Squad in Congress.
Down-ballot, our progressives champions Bob Libal and Susanna Ledesma-Woody are challenging Democrat incumbents for control of the Travis County TX Commissioners Court.
“Our Revolution has backed both Libal and Ledesma-Woody. Each challenger brings to the race experience in grassroots organizing and advocacy,” The Austin Bulldog reports. “This combination of outside support and grassroots connections suggests that the challengers are to be taken seriously, and raises the odds of an incumbency-ending upset.”
And, we’re endorsing Leslie Boykin for Travis County TX Court Judge! Leslie told us she’s running to be a servant to her community. These are the kind of allies we need to elect.

GETTING REAL NY PROGRESSIVES ON THE BALLOT
Our Revolution-NYPAN has endorsed Jumaane Williams and Melanie D’Arrigo, and you can help us petition to get these two progressive fighters on the ballot across New York state!
At an organizing meeting on Thursday, close to 100 volunteers were trained to help petition for ballot access, and we’re onboarding more helpers!
Melanie is a healthcare advocate and community organizer running for US Congress (NY-3)! She stands for people over profits, Medicare for All, and a Green New Deal.
Jumaane is the only candidate for NY Governor who supports our priorities, like passing the NY Health Act, extending the eviction moratorium, taxing the wealthy, and making CUNY tuition-free.

BATTLING INSURRECTIONISTS
Our Revolution Ohio “rallied outside of GOP Rep. Jim Jordan’s local office, urging the secretary of state to remove him from the ballot and prevent him from seeking another term in Congress,” Newsweek reports.
Our activists questioned Jordan: “You were in regular communication with Trump on Jan. 6th, what did you tell him? Did you or did you not provide aid or comfort to the enemies of the constitution who were trying through violence to overturn the results of an election?”
As part of our 14.3 Campaign, we have peacefully protested the unconstitutional candidacies of insurrectionists in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio!
Next up: Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, and Texas! – and, of course, Trump himself, who must be barred from running for the White House in 2024.

CAWTHORN’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL CANDIDACY
Our Revolution North Carolina members were the first to file a historic legal challenge against the candidacy of insurrectionist and US Rep. Madison Cawthorn under Amendment 14.3 of The Constitution.
For now, due to redistricting, the challenge is on hold – waiting to see which district Cawthorn decides to run in. He has until Tuesday to withdraw as a 13th District candidate and until midday Thursday to file for another seat.
“We will be refiling this challenge on behalf of voters who live in the congressional district which Madison Cawthorn selects for his candidacy,” our partner organization Free Speech For People told ABC News Friday.
Cawthorn’s larger quest to block the NC State Board of Elections from investigating the challenge to his candidacy was stymied this week when the NC attorney general’s office dismissed his lawsuit against the board, Politico reports.
Cawthorn “was involved in efforts to intimidate Congress and the Vice President into rejecting valid electoral votes,” FSFP argues. When Cawthorn appeared at the Jan. 6 rally preceding the Capitol attack, he would have known it was likely to be a prelude to the violence.
And, last week, he admitted to Tucker Carlson that our campaign to disqualify him from re-election is close to being successful, Newsweek reports.
“If they’re able to set this precedent in North Carolina, they will be able to keep anybody who had ‘valid and legitimate concerns’ about what happened in the 2020 election from being able to ever hold office and thus ending the America First movement,” Cawthorn admits.
Despicably, he tries to make it out like he’s the victim and his disqualification is unjust to his voters. Except - Cawthorn disqualified himself and betrayed those who sent him to Congress by fostering an attempt to subvert the will of 81 million voters in the 2020 Presidential Election.

M4A PUSH IN NJ, OH, FL
Our Revolution members and progressives we’ve helped to elect are working together to pass Medicare For All Resolutions in cities and counties across the country.
On Thursday, Our Revolution NJ succeeded in a push to pass the state’s 14th resolution, sending a message from Mercer County to Washington D.C. in support of universal, single-payer healthcare!
“It is long past time for Congress to move us into the modern age, end our exploitative for-profit insurance system, and embrace healthcare as a human right,” said Joe Marchica, co-chair of Our Revolution Trenton-Mercer.
In Ohio, Our Revolution-endorsed Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren introduced a local Medicare for All Resolution to the city council Tuesday! Now, we’re organizing to get it passed.
Also this week, Our Revolution Florida held a statewide Medicare for All Town Hall to organize M4A Resolutions at the local level in the Sunshine State! US Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL-24) joined local elected officials, health professionals, economists, and activist leaders to talk strategy.

DEMS MUST EMPOWER LABOR TO DELIVER DEMOCRATIC AGENDA
Our Revolution Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese argued in Fortune this week for President Biden to use his power to push for the PRO Act to restore union power and density.
“Democrats need solidarity with unions — not only do they foster political literacy and engagement, they’re critical to a functioning democracy,” the op-ed reads. “To deliver a working-class agenda, Democrats must empower the working class.”
Why can’t President Biden get his popular economic agenda over the finish line? It can’t all be pinned on a few obstructionist senators and one unelected parliamentarian.
“Powerful corporate interests dominate our public policy. It’s a predictable outcome after 70 years of the systematic erosion of unions – a key democratic tool for working people – and Democrats’ decades-long drift away from Labor,” Joseph wrote.
Biden could use the bully pulpit to rally the public and push for a filibuster exception to get the bill to his desk. The President also has the power to enact major pieces of the PRO Act through executive order.

BIDEN CAN & MUST ACT ON CLIMATE NOW
Our Revolution joins 1,000 national groups - and more than 50 lawmakers - in calling on President Biden to use Tuesday’s State of the Union to lay out a bold new climate agenda that includes declaring a climate emergency, Bloomberg reports.
An emergency declaration would unlock executive powers, enabling Biden to take climate action with the stroke of a pen:
- Halt crude oil exports
- Stop offshore oil & gas drilling
- Restrict fossil fuel imports & exports
- Spur domestic clean energy & transport
- Build resilient, distributed renewables in frontline communities
“Your administration’s legislative and regulatory climate proposals have not addressed limiting the production and burning of fossil fuels, the main driver of climate change,” our letter reads. “As fossil fuel lobbyists and politicians continue to block real climate action in Congress, bold executive action is desperately needed.”

FIGHTING AGAINST WAR
Our Revolution stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people against this war and all those who are fighting for a diplomatic solution — including the Russian people who are being arrested for brave anti-war demonstrations.
As Bernie said, “Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is an indefensible violation of international law, regardless of whatever false pretext he offers.
“There has always been a diplomatic solution to this situation. Tragically, Putin appears intent on rejecting it,” Bernie stated. “The international community has to impose “serious sanctions on Putin and his oligarchs, including denying them access to the billions of dollars that they have stashed in European and American banks.”
Aid and safe harbor must be given immediately to refugees fleeing this conflict. And, we must transition away from fossil fuels to combat climate change and deny authoritarian petrostates the revenues they require to survive.

VICTORY! After weeks of progressive pressure, President Biden nominated a pro-labor jurist to the Supreme Court!
The newest member of SCOTUS, Ketanji Brown Jackson has a record of standing up for working families. This month, she ruled in favor of public-sector labor unions challenging Trump’s order to eviscerate collective bargaining rights. Jackson has previously blocked executive orders from Trump limiting federal workers' rights.
In recent weeks, Our Revolution joined labor groups around the country to ultimately defeat the anti-labor pick of Rep. Jim Clyburn and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who had teamed up to push SC District Court Judge Michelle Childs.
When we organize, we win!
And, Biden needed this pro-labor win.
