To polar bears, Arctic sea ice is everything.
They hunt on it. They swim from one ice patch to another. They thrive in 40°-50°below zero temperatures. There is nothing that stands in their way…except for climate change.
As climate activists, we've always had a soft spot for these lumbering, majestic giants. Each year we pause to commemorate International Polar Bear Day on February 27, and spend a few days showing polar bears some love.
This year, we're sharing a collection of adorable, breathtaking and poignant photos of polar bears, paired with facts about the bears you may not have known.
