John,

The Georgia Legislature is getting closer to approving legislation that would allow Georgians to carry a concealed handgun without first getting a license from the state.

This is extremely dangerous, and I’ve been clear with where I stand on this issue: our nation needs common-sense reforms to end the ongoing epidemic of gun violence plaguing our country. We need to strengthen regulations, not loosen them.

Georgia Republicans are currently in a race against the clock as the legislative session is wrapping up next week, and they are doing everything in their power to ram through this reckless piece of legislation.

If Republicans manage to take the House in November, you can bet they’ll try to enact the same backwards policies. It’s wrong for Georgia, and it’s wrong for America. We must defend our majority and ensure this brand of politics is nowhere near the House of Representatives. Will you contribute today and defend our majority against an irresponsible and increasingly reckless Republican Party?

What makes matters worse is that this is nothing but a desperate ploy by Governor Kemp to appeal to the MAGA base as he is in a fight for his political life against a Trump-anointed opponent.

Kemp is doing everything he can to appeal to the Trump base despite the societal consequences of his reckless proposals that allow anyone to carry a concealed gun without a permit or proper training on how to handle a gun.
